Understanding the Possible Proton Antiproton Bound State Observed by BES Collaboration
We comment on the quantum numbers and decay channels of the possible proton antiproton bound state observed by BES Collaboration. Based on the general symmetry consideration and available experimental information, we conclude that the quantum number of this state is very likely to be J = 0, I = 0, which can not decay into final states ππ, 2π,KK̄, 3π. Besides its dissociation into pp̄, the other i...
متن کاملSpin and Isospin Asymmetry, Equation of State and Neutron Stars
In the present work, we have obtained the equation of state for neutron star matter considering the in uence of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin state. We have also investigated the structure of neutron stars. According to our results, the spin asymmetry stiens the equation of state and leads to high mass for the neutron star.
متن کاملBound near-equatorial orbits around neutron stars
Recent discovery of kilohertz quasi-periodic brightness oscillations of low mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs) has attracted attention to highly relativistic periodic motion near accreting neutron stars. Most models proposed so far involve (almost) inertial motion in the vicinity of the stars’ innermost stable circular orbits. In the present paper we study general-relativistic circular and eccentric o...
متن کاملReduced occupancy of the deeply bound 0d(5/2) neutron state in 32Ar.
The 9Be(32Ar, 31Ar)X reaction, leading to the 5/2+ ground state of a nucleus at the proton drip line, has a cross section of 10.4(13) mb at a beam energy of 65.1 MeV/nucleon. This translates into a spectroscopic factor that is only 24(3)% of that predicted by the many-body shell-model theory. We introduce refinements to the eikonal reaction theory used to extract the spectroscopic factor to cla...
متن کاملA New Interpretation of the Proton-neutron Bound State. the Calculation of the Binding Energy
We treat the old problem of the proton-neutron bound state (the deuteron). Using a new concept of incomplete (partial) annihilation process we derive a formula for the binding energy of the deuteron, which does not contain any new constant. Some implications of this new approach are discussed.
